British half crown with the new George VI head on obverse. George VI issued the new revised reverse . In 1920, the price for silver rose to the extent that it exceeded the face value of the coin. The silver content was changed to 500/1000 but the alloy didn’t wear well so future changes would have to again be made. This is a nice 1947 circulated George VI Half Crown coin in 500 silver with the changed alloy and George VI modified reverse of the second revision. Good coin. Wear areas as shown in photos.
